Loan And Lease Deferment Facts

If a loan deferment is in your future, you may be wondering what a loan or lease deferment is and how it will impact your credit score. Valdosta Nissan has listed all the information Thomasville drivers need to know about the loan or lease deferment process below.

What is a Loan or Lease Deferment?

If your request for a loan or lease deferment is approved by Valdosta Nissan, payments that would have been due during the deferment period may be skipped without penalty. When your deferment period ends, all of the payments you “missed” will then be made up during an extension period after the end of your original loan or lease term. For example: if you deferred your loan from January to the end of March, and your loan or lease term ends in July, you will continue to make payments for three more months after the original July end date.

Will a Deferment Affect My Credit Score?

If you are approved for a loan or lease deferment, you are agreeing to move back the payment dates for a specified period of time. Since Valdosta Nissan has agreed to the arrangement, the deferment will not have a negative impact on your credit score. Additionally, the deferment will not be reported as negative credit to the three credit bureaus. Any missed or late payments that are not covered under the deferment will be reported as if it were a regular missed payment under your lease or loan.

End Of Lease Options

If you currently have a lease through Valdosta Nissan and you’re almost at the end of your term, you may not be able to release your vehicle to the dealership or transfer the lease to a loan due to your personal or financial circumstances. Hahira drivers who are not able or not ready to make end-of-lease arrangements can request an extension or other forms of car payment relief by contacting our finance center.
